5 TIPS to help you STOP YOUR PREGNANCY SWELLING

Hi everybody, it's that time again.

I know there are not many of you just yet but we are growing. If you have any Questions please do email me at ADimmock@cfl.rr.com

Please pass this newsletter on to your freinds or relatives who may be pregnant. Thank you.

As your pregnancy progresses, you might find that you're starting to feel more and more uncomfortable - and maybe a little (or a lot!) swollen too.

Most pregnant women experience some kind of swelling (edema). Although it IS natural for your body to retain some water during pregnancy, swelling is NOT something to be taken lightly, so make sure you go for regular medical checkups.

Assuming that everything is normal, here are 5 TIPS to help you STOP YOUR SWELLING:

1. Make sure you rest and elevate your feet regularly throughout the day (NEVER cross your legs!).

2. Avoid standing for long periods of time, especially in high heels.

3. Do not wear any tight clothing or elastics around your legs, this will cut off your circulation.

4. Drink lots of water - try adding lemon to increase the absorption (don't worry, it WON'T make you more swollen!).

5. And last, but not least, keep ACTIVE - exercise is the best thing that you can do for your swollen legs, not to mention the rest of your body (and mind) too! Try brisk walking or my personal favorite - swimming (and always be sure to get your doctor's OK before doing any type of exercise routine).

And one last TIP...

For those of you who are thinking about flying (and I get a LOT of these emails!)- YES you can fly up until your 7th month, ( and I know people who have flown up untill almost 8 months) but you must check with your doctor beforehand to make sure everything is OK.

If you do happen to fly, make sure you wear loose clothing, move around a lot during the flight and wear thongs or slippers so your feet have lots of room to breathe (FYI, don't panic if your feet get swollen during the flight, this is normal, but do make sure you move around LOTS!).

Pregnancy is a special time in every woman’s life. Her body is growing, changing and glowing as she carries another life inside of her. An expecting woman is radiant, beautiful and sexy.
