Emerging butterfly brand Babu maternity exhibited for the first time
2004 at Premier Kids. Prince’s Trust UK, Young Achiever Katy
Ellis showcased her four fabulous new maternity t-shirts with the
titles Love is like a butterfly, Been there… Done
that…, and the highly topical Mother Earth and Make Love.
These Maternity T-shirts are a must.
The idea for Babu maternity came
to Katy when flicking through a magazine on a train, travelling to a
business-planning course. She had been thinking of becoming a market
trader selling customised t-shirts but came across this photo of an
acorn and suddenly the concept of stretchy maternity t-shirts and
clothes for pregnant women and the phrase 'tall oaks from small acorns
grow' seemed a match made in heaven.
Katy Ellis has come up with a
truly creative idea. Although she has never been pregnant Katy says
“when you are pregnant you feel fat and unattractive. I
wanted to put a smile on the face of the person wearing the Babu
maternity clothes and those who see them.
This fledgling company is a
humerous, attractive welcome addition to the maternity market.
The Babu maternity Tees were
featured in Time Out Tel-Aviv, has authorizes Mind-thebump in the USA
to be a distributor and is selling worldwide. Katy was also awarded a
'Young Achiever of the Year' certificate by The Prince's Trust!
